We have all had jobs, often an everyday job as we grow into the people who we can be. Sometimes you just know what you love and what you want to be and sometimes you don’t and may need a little extra help and that too is okay. The expectation that everyone is born with the knowledge of what they want to do with their lives and what career choices best fit them is archaic and entirely unrealistic. Take Stephen King for an example, he started out as a janitor at a high school, working a job just because and ended up becoming one of the most prolific writers of all time, not because he knew what he wanted to be but because he found a way to profit off his passions and values. The truth is most of the time, we don’t know what Careers best fit, even upon graduating college which is fine. Through this series on “Career Decisions and its Nuances” we will delve into discussions around careers choices, how best to choose, factors that influence your choices and other nuances.

Often we find that personal values and passions play an exceptionally prominent role in making these career geared decisions. What do you enjoy doing? What do you like to learn? What interests you and how do you make that a profession? These are some of the questions you should ask yourself when thinking through future career choices, not just the generic profit driving questions, because your career is something you will be doing for a long time and if you’re not enjoying it what’s the point.

Again, not having it all planned out or not having your mind made up is more normal than we realize. Job search can of course be difficult when you’re not tunnel visioned about what it is you’re looking to do career wise. Maybe you only know your strengths and weaknesses so far, or you have skills you’re not sure what to do with, and that’s why we have platforms like MoreWithUs — Everyday Jobs. Platforms that have innovatively changed the job search industry and now bring employers to you based on your apparent strengths and skills, instead of overwhelming your senses with a million job positions that may not be the best fit for you.
